OPINION ESSAY
Many people use
violence as a way to solve their problems because they think is easier than
discuss. But I think this is because they have not been properly educated, which
is not schools’ fault. If kids see violence in their environment, such as in
television, they will not think it is a bad thing.
Personally, I
believe the danger of showing violence is not only that teenagers copy
it, but also that they do not realize the severity of their actions. Consequently,
the teenager, whom see violence as normal, will be immune to the horror
of it.
Furthermore, I
strongly agree that is also dangerous for the victim. For instance, imagine an adolescent
watching a show where a person is being brutally kicked. If the young
felt identified with the character, he may be afraid of being the victim.
However, this
does not mean that kids or teenagers can not watch television. If the
parents are aware of the content which they are looking at, it can be even
beneficial.
All in all, violence
among teenagers, increases when more violence is shown on television. But in my
opinion, we can prevent this very easily. Do not let your children watch
inadequate content when they are not old enough.
