Nosedive is a chapter of the successful series Black Mirror, which has been produced
by Netflix. It is directed by Joe Wright, and the main character is starred by the
American star Bryce Dallas Howard.
It tells the story of a woman who lives in a society where people spends all the time
rating each other, fact with which she is obsessed. The plot starts when she is chosen
to be a childhood friend’s maid of honour, which is an opportunity to increase her
rating and buy a luxurious house.
I find the chapter very unusual because I had never seen a so brilliant way to transmit
an important message to the spectators, who surely got it. In addition, I enjoyed it a lot
because the music composer did a great job, and If I had had the opportunity, I would
have liked a lot to watch it in a cinema to get the most out of its soundtrack.
The only thing of it that I would change if I were able are the secondary actors, that
from my point of view are too artificial.
It is an entertaining chapter with a very powerful message, which is the reason why I
recommend it to everybody. Moreover, I am sure that if you watch it once, you will
want to see it again.
